Hi! My name is Heather and I am extremely new to quilting. I just started in May.
Have you ever taken a class in school or in some organization and it just completely changes how you look at the subject? Quilting class did that for me...
When I first walked into Judy's Quilting Center, located in a small town in eastern Pennsylvania, I could barely sew. I have been buying a lot of quilting magazines trying to get up the urge to quilt and finally I decided to actually step foot in a quilt shop. I walked into a whole other world. I found a pattern for a cute cup cake holder I found in one of my magazines and just had to try it. I got the pattern, a few fat quarters and set to work.
Only problem was: I Can't Sew! So the joke was on me. It turned out horrible. I will have to post a picture of the project gone wrong.
I almost gave up on quilting all together. That is until I decided to try the quilting class offered at Judy's. I went to not being able to sew to using the sewing machine, quilting and hand sewing!
Whether you are a beginner or not take advantage of the ability to learn something new. It is all so worth it.
I hope you will accompany me on my journey to becoming a Master Quilter!
