Leaping through the new quilting magazine of the month and there it is...that quilt that you absolutely have to make. It is extremely beautiful and it just speaks to you. You know deep down in your soul you have to make it.
Here's mine... SLEEP UNDER THE STARS
The magazine was Quilt Sampler Spring/Summer 2012 issue. Quilt Sampler certainly is the best quilting magazine. Each issue features a shop hop, where the magazine travels all over the United States bring the loyal readers 11 stories, history, and the offerings each shop has to offer.
I was seeing stars when I came across Sleep Under The Stars. Classic black and white beauty that will never go out of style.
What I did not realize was how tedious this pattern would be. I have been working on the 90 something flying geese I had to make right off the bat...
...and the pile was big, even after ironing. I had to flip them around every so often so they wouldn't topple over. But progressively I got better with sewing so that, when sewn to something else, the points on the triangle should be perfect. When I was done you would think I made a hundred of them, except that it was almost a hundred of them...did someone say tedious? It doesn't matter because I Am Sewing An Intermediate Pattern!
Still, it is my work in progress...my long, beautiful work in progress.
